Krafton India has officially announced the comeback of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), a popular mobile Battle Royale title. In an Instagram post, the company expressed gratitude to Indian authorities for permitting the restart of BGMI and highlighted their commitment to compliance with Indian laws. The game will soon be available for download in India, eagerly welcoming players back to the platform.
However, the Indian government has set limitations on BGMI's return and will closely monitor the app for three months. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has unblocked the game on a trial basis, subject to scrutiny. If any adverse activities are observed, the app may face another ban. Changes are expected in the relaunched version, including time limits, playing hour restrictions, and the removal of blood from the game.
Although Krafton has not disclosed specific limitations, the company's primary focus is ensuring the safety and enjoyment of players. They aim to promote responsible gaming and cultivate a healthier gaming culture where players can have fun while prioritizing their overall well-being.
BGMI was banned by the Indian government on July 28, 2022, due to concerns regarding privacy and safety. It was removed from both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store under section 69A of the IT Act.
The return of Battlegrounds Mobile India brings excitement to Indian gamers, but the app's compliance with regulations and responsible gaming practices will remain under close observation during the three-month trial period.
